Was it a genuine CTS? If not bin it and get a genuine one. If genuine scan for fault codes

Hi, have got exactly the same problem. New thermostat, new coolant sensor, new multifunctional coolant censor and even a new radiator. Did you manage to solve your problem and if so how?
mine is a 1999 lt35 2.5 tdi

Hi Ashbury, believe it or not yes I've sorted it at last :D , mechanic i know scanned it but couldn't find anything so after previously changing all the sensors and thermostat started to look at the wiring , he tested the wiring from the lower sensor and the live was ok so proceeded to attach a new earth from one of the brown wires ( 4 wires in total ,2 brown, one brown has a white band ) not sure which one , il have a look and get back to you on that one but when attached with scotch block from earth to earth on battery the dam thing worked at last :biglaugh: , hope this is the same and it sorts if for you , been a bit of a nightmare and about £100 later but glad its working , any more info give me a shout ...

Hi Disco10, many thanks for that, it has been driving me mad and cost me a lot of money. If you can tell me the colour of the offending wire I will be straight down the garage tomorrow and get it fixed.

HI , it worked for mine just hope its the same for you , if you pull the connector off the bottom sensor it has 4 wires , i believe its the brown one! needs a new wire from it with a scotch block to a earth , but make sure it is a earth first , should be pretty straightforward for someone with a tester to find which ones are live and earth , only issue is there is 2 brown so get them to test which one it is i think its the one right as you look at it , il try and have a proper look later as its p-----g down here , takes a while to register tempurature if its like mine , :approve:

Hi Disco 10, have earthed out the wire to the temp sensor and the temp gauge works a treat. Many thanks for the tip.
