B6 Estate - Replacing off side tailgate wiring boot/gaiter

Hi All,

I have a 57-plate B6 Estate, and the black wiring loom gaiter/boot on the off side (visible near the hinges when boot is open) has split.

I've got a replacement, but I cannot figure out how to get the existing wires through the new gaiter. It's just too small to feed the connectors through. The right hand side seems to contain wiring for the tailgate release, right hand side lights and the washer pipe.

I'm thinking that there must be a junction somewhere for both the washer pipe and the wiring loom, which allows you to feed just the cable through, leaving the connectors in place. However, I can't find anything in the tailgate.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
