I'm collecting my "new" A6 tomorrow (2012 C7) which does not currently have AMI installed.
Not sure if its a factor, but the Sat Nav system is the SD card version.

Is it possible for the dealer to retrofit the AMI system on this model ?

If not, are there any other options for iPhone integration ? I have the Dension 500 system installed in my current A6 C5, but the Dension site does not show the C7 variant as being compatible.

Thanks in advance !

My dealer had the AMI retrofitted to my car (Kufatec do the kit) as the car they found for me did not have it, apparently it is a very common dealer fit process. I see you are in the Bath area and the guy who did the work (on my drive) is based in Swindon so that would work for you if the dealer does not have his own tame supplier. I will PM you his details. In addition to the electrics it also requires a new liner for the arm rest storage unit to replace the 3.5mm jack with the AMI port. You will need to get the AMI cable (see numerous posts on this board about which one you will want) from the dealer.

You should have phone integration through standard bluetooth. AMI is not really for phone integration, it's for music from a portable device without using bluetooth. You will be able to play music from the phone over bluetooth but wont have control from the steering wheel. For music that you can control from the steering wheel you could use the second SD slot, this will also give you album art etc provided the cover art is embedded.

My A6 Allroad doesn't have AMI and I don't miss it. I simply copied my iTunes library to a SD card and use that. I posted instructions on how to setup playlists a while back.

Thanks all.

By "phone integration" i meant integration of the phones "features", so included music in that. I've not read much about the Audi BT system, so hopefully no issues with that.

I'll try the SD card approach first, but it would be nice to have a single solution for phone / music / charging. Worst case scenario, at least I now know that the dealer can retrofit this !

Thanks again :-)

Don't think that will work as it states: -

Only suitable for vehicles with MMI Navigation Plus with MMI touch

I don't have the MMI touch pad.

For the sake of approx £400 i'll probably stick with the SD card and buy a car charger for the iPhone !

Get a 32Gb class 10 SD card (less than £20 on ebay) copy everything over - it might not be full integration like AMI, but it is a hell of lot cheaper !!
