Hi All,

I own a 2.0 TDI Audi a3 8p with the BKD engine and as many of you TDI owners have probably already experiences the DMF and clutch replacement can cost a small fortune, especially when I don't think my cars worth much now but would like to keep it going a while longer. The parts are pricey but if it lasts me another year or 2, it would be worth it.

So the question is, do you think its a job possible on my drive way?
Will I struggle to get the gearbox out or are there any other challenges do you think I could face doing this on my own?

Thank you all for any advice.

Did you ever do this?

I've been considering this too, same engine. To do it properly you'll need an engine brace or hoist, as you'll be removing the rear engine/box mount. The parts are about 400quid for dmf and clutch kit, labour I've been quoted the same again. I think if mine does go then I'll give it a go on the drive lol.
