Well guys the time has come to say goodbye to the B6 forum.
I have ordered my new car today. The clue is in the title, its a Mk7 Golf GTD manual in white. Delivery is estimated for March 2014.
The passat will be missed. Its the best car I have owned and ultra ultra reliable.
I can honeslty say if you get a decent B6 they are great!!! Wear and tear for me and thats it. Not bad for nearly 5 yrs & 70k

Urrrgh, too late he's gone to the slavery side of driving,
Hope you enjoy it Rappy, don't become a typical Golf driver though (think BMW 3 Series driver from the 80's) you should be ok with that as it's a CR, I'd get the box switched though, if there's one thing I do miss about being a VW owner it's the DSG,
Hope it works out ok buddy :beerchug:

Thanks DSG. tbh I fancy a change. I just hope I dont come to regreat going manual. £50 a month cheaper and that's not including the fuel save. I hope it turns out to be a good buy.
I'm not saying never DSG again but after 5 yrs of DSG it will be good to go back to a stick.

Basically Golf drivers suck, as a pro driver myself I get to see who drives good and who doesn't and what in, and over the last 5 years the Golf has been plagued with gotta go first inconsiderate drivers just like the 3 Series used to have, I think it's because the 3 is now out of their wallet range where the Golf isn't, *this is mainly second hand cars* anyway over the years the trait cars have been for me
Renault 5 - Ultra bad driver in an ultra bad car
BMW 3 - I wanted a 5 but I couldn't afford one until I become a manager but I'm still considerably richer than thou
Ford KA - Silly girly car driven by silly girly whose more interested in her hair than the road
Volvo Estates - Oh I say I bought a 4 wheel invincibility cloak so be a good chap and get in the kerb as I need both lanes and I never pull over to read a map
VW Golf - Everyone's talking about these so I got one, yeah yeah yeah, oops I didn't see you I was too busy telling myself how great I am
Obviously this is a wild statement and not everyone who drives/drove any of these cars is a bad driver but a good % of them were either bad or selfish otr ime.
So young Rapstah (see you got a new nick already to go with the new car ;)) if your coming the other way be sure to say thx if I give way to you and don't start assuming you have right of way when it's your side of the road the blockage is on :beerchug:

Dsg :-):-):-):-) I know what you mean. Not about the golf but other brands. Audi & Bmws for me. I really wish they would fit those flashy lights to Bmws would be great to know they are turning.
When I got my passat my friend said oh not another power crazed rep car!!!!!!
He hates the Vw brand with a passion. He drives a Merc. When I said I was looking an E class he said finally a fellow Merc driver. I wont tell you what he said about the Golf!!!

Yes, how's this "typical Golf driver" comment relevent? (except for a wind up :p ) On the Mk VI you can't left foot brake without the throttle pedal going unresponsive, you can't use the handbrake to turn the car without the throttle pedal going unresponsive, and at slip angles past a few degrees the car starts to cycle the ABS to bring the car back
I'd be more interested in why go Derv? Is it really time for the cloth cap and string back gloves?

You've bought a Golf?
Bad move - one of the hidden benefits of owning a Passat is that it's got such a lousy reputation, no one in their right mind would dream of nicking it.:biglaugh:
But a Golf? Be careful out there....
Seriously, good luck with it.

Na honestly Richard I notice things otr and (it could be just the ones where I live btw) Golf drivers are appalling and remind me of the stereotypical BMW3, Range Rover type driver of the 80's.

Hi Guys,
With March fast approaching I will be putting my passat up for sale mid Feb. I have spent the last 8 Saturdays getting the paint flawless etc......... Ok I know its a late November 55 plate. But its in mint cond & wants for nothing.
What price should I be looking for? It will have covered 115k when I come to sell.
Thanks, Rappy.
