Hello,
Sorry to bother with such trivials, but has anyone noticed that there is quite a big gap between the top edge of the mmi panel (where it meets the soft plastic from the dash)? When I look from a low angle I can see even inside components and I could almost put my finger there ;) Is that how it's supposed to be in this model? It's only visible like that when I lower my head and look at the dash from the bottom (as shown on the photo).
It's probably how it is, but I would feel calmer if anyone could confirm it. Thank you in advance for your feedback!

I'd say thats proably normal and you're just being paranoid and can I ask why you were looking up there anyway?
fwiw heres some pics from a loan C7 a while back.

Thanks, that's a bit different angle but gives the general idea. Honestly I was just looking around the car interior, checking how each part/trim is fitted and noticed that gap. I'm a bit paranoid about the way the plastic trims/parts are fitted/aligned after having a Passat in which everything rattled and squeaked since it was new...

It could easily have been me but the lack of flames shooting from the dash probably gave it away.

There is actually enough room in that space to put a CD, and I kid you not, this has happened as was reported to me by one of the customer service people on one of my visits to the dealership.

Someone on here actually did it didn't they? Had to go to the dealership.

Think the gap may in fact be intentional to allow somewhere for the heat from the CD/DVD drive to escape

Serves me right for trying to put in CD whilst driving in the dark!! It's still there and will probably stay as it was the new Birdy album and its ****.

I cannot believe that I ended up grovelling about in the footwell of my car with a torch in my teeth on a cold, dark November evening to check this out. Car forums, the quick and convenient road to being institutionalised for your own good.
Yes, mine is the same but I am all but certain it is as intended, it is even across the gap and where the trim panel mates up on either side it is completely flush. I can see how a cd/DVD could end up in there though.
