Hi guys just checking on here before a take the plunge that what i am buying will be ok for my Passat.
My car is a 2006 SE 2.0TDI 140 Estate with standard suspension and currently sitting on the standard Catalunya 16" alloys that are looking rather tired and 205/55R16 tyres.
What i am looking at is a set of 8Jx18" RS4 looking Alloys with a stud pattern of 5x112 and ET42 the tyre size is 225/40R18.
Just wanting to know if these will fit with no problems at all, i would also like to point out that i use the car for towing a caravan and i have Greystone Spring assisters on the rear end.

Tyre size sounds right for 18's. I would do a search on here for previous threads, as this subject has been discussed before.

i am asking because someone on another forum said 18s were no good on B6 passats unless you have the sports suspension. i cant see what difference it makes.

Some SEL's came with sport suspension.

The only thing really is the wheel arch gap maybe slightly bigger with non sport suspension & that the car may not sit right on 18's.

Look in your handboox and there will (should) be a list of option wheel sizes and tyres that match. It also lists winter tyre sizes in case you fancy using your old wheels during the salty months. It won't tell you PCR for the wheels though.

Just wanted you to be aware of the extra cost for the Johnnies :D

The only thing I can think of is like Raps and Tefs said, normal S SE Highline suspension may leave you with a stilts look.
