Hi chaps - yet another phone question!

The android upgrade for my phone - Galaxy S3 - is coming soon, and, as there is basically no going back, I'm keen to ensure it will still work on the bluetooth rSAP with the car and Audi Phone prep high, google maps etc etc.

So

1. Has anyone got a Note III (which already has android 4.3), and successfully carphoned to the car?

2. I think the upgrade is coming to the S4 before the S3 from what I can make out, so if anyone gets the update soon could they report success / failure

3. Just for fun has anyone got a Galaxy Gear and is it any good?

Cheers

Jon

My personal opinion is that it will look smashing next to an electronic tag.

Hi Jon,

Certainly for the S4 the 4.3 update retains rSAP because I'm using it, this would lead me to assume the Note 3 and S3 variants will also continue to support rSAP.

On the Galaxy gear front, I've had a play with one and found it to be very gimmicky to be honest, I certainly can't see a great deal of value in using one, but that could just be old age... ;) Samsung Galaxy Gear review | Gadgets Reviews | TechRadar (http://www.techradar.com/reviews/gadgets/samsung-galaxy-gear-1178222/review)

Depending on your phone (operator branded or SIM free) you might not got the update immediately or at all. Also you can revert your firmware back to 4.2.2 should you have any undesirable results from the upgrade. :D

Brilliant, thanks for the info, I'm on O2 so I would presume they will do a roll out at some point, how on earth to you go back a version? I guess that involves the infamous 'rooting' which I've never bothered with before.

No problem,

No rooting required to go back, you just need ODIN and the standard firmware from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ this will not increase your flash counter if your using standard firmware and will not void your warranty.
