Well it's been a little while since posting on here, guess that's not a bad sign. However I find myself in a bit of situation due to the car still being under warranty.

So I ring East Kent audi on the Sunday and get put through to the after sale team - I've asked that my oil service indicator is due to come up any time and after a quote... She stated that because it's after sales they couldn't access the network but somehow she plucked a figure of £131 from somewhere - which I didn't think was too bad.

Monday comes along and I decided to ring Maidstone audi as it's closer to me for a quote or to match the quote if it was dearer. Anyway they came back to me saying its £290! (OMG) I was very quick to state about the quote I had from East Kent and she couldn't understand where that quote had come from, I told her the name of the person I spoke to etc and she said okay we can match that. I ask her to send me confirmation in an email. So I get the email and it says £181 (oil only) - now this leaves me confused. A) wrong price as quoted. B) oil only - it's a service so surely oil and filter? If it's oil only £181 really?

I may may ring again and provide my own oil (buy direct from their parts counter) and put it on their desk as I'm sure that'll probably knock about £80 off! Unbelievable everytime.

Its ts all about the money! Have any of you lot had experiences or good deals when it comes to an oil service as I lose the will to live sometimes when I speak to audi. It's my first oil change too so i don't know if they're trying to con me for as much as possible or what.

Go into your DIS and press CHECK and see if it's an oil change or inspection you need.

If the car is over 3 years old - Fixed-price servicing < Servicing with Audi < Owners area (http://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/servicing-with-audi/affordable-servicing.html)

Interim (oil and oil filter) is £159 with the leeway of discount if you ask nicely.

Yeah the £159 is for oil and oil filter for cars >3yr old. Play dumb and say the price is £159 according to your website and see if they play along, if not just tell them you'll go elsewhere then you'll see the figure drop.

My A6 is 3.0 and I'm charged under the fixed servicing (even tho it's only up to 2.0) just cos I asked and am a good customer. There's discount threw off the discounted price too most times.

Okay so an update...
i have stated that the website is £159 for an interim services which includes the oil change. And she said that's only on "A" models and doesn't include the "S" models also age (so she clearly knows the website small print) however audi Maidstone came up with a price of £176 and they will match if a cheaper price can be found (this was after I said it's okay ill to somewhere else) I then proceeded to say that if you can price match why can't you just give a discounted price to begin with then of course I got all the ball about it's not up to her etc. I'm not tight I just want a bleen fair price... So my question now is does anyone know any independent dealers that use OEM parts to do audi servicing that I can get a quote from?

I do, but they are further afield than Maidstone and usually the price matching is subject to the garage being within an X mile radius of the dealership. Any garage should be able to give you a quote and you just specify that you want genuine VAG parts to be used. I'll PM you some details anyway.

Alan

Many thanks for the PM.

i have had quotes of £160 [oil and inspection service] compared to audis £320. OR £111 for just an oil/filter change compared to audis £190. I have since rung audi to see if they can price match and their not interested at all as it's pretty much half the price. They have also raised the prices on every occasion I've contacted them which led me having a moan on the phone to the poor woman! I'm just trying to contact my local VW dealer to see if they will match the quotes I received so it's less to travel.

Alan you are the MAN!

Update...

JCB medway [VW] 2 minutes from home. £149 oil and inspection service. I'm assuming as it's part of the VAG company my warranty won't be compromised?

Warranty will be fine.
