I have read depending on location that the automatic go can stay on standby for up to 3 minutes. In the UK this is only about 5 seconds. I can't find a VCDS method to adjust it, anyone investigate this previously?
Similarly lane assist, when driving with hands ready to take control because it feels little to no resistance it turns off. Again I'd like to increase this time out, although I have no idea if this is different based on location.

I have even less - I think it's around 3 seconds before the auto-go becomes deactivated. I would also prefer to have at least 3 minutes.

The automatic go on my A7 stays active for about 20 seconds. If it switches off, you just need to tap the accelerator to get it to move again (literally for a split second) once the car in front has pulled off.

20secs is quite some time, better than 3 or 5! You can also pull the ACC lever that has the same effect as the accelerator, I'd just like longer before it cuts out, otherwise after 3 secs I have to be ready to manually go, it kinda takes the automatic out of go, which would wake me up :-0!

Yeah good point! Have you tried asking your dealer? In the manual it says speak to them and they will add an option where you can select the initial adaptive cruise distance preset. (It always starts at distance 3 of 4) I added it via VCDS and can now select which distance it starts off at. I guess a dealer could change that too?

M1tchy - could you explain the VCDS procedure for changing the ACC distance preset? It isn't part of the sticky... Thanks.

Yeah sure, sorry for the delay. This was the very first thing I did with VCDS so really is simple. (I must confess though, this is NOT my work, I copied it from UltimateVW.COM (www.ultimatevw.com))
In cars with adaptive cruise control the default distance (1 to 4) can be changed from the CAR menu. If this menu option is hidden in you car, you can enable it with VAG-COM. From the Auto distance regulation module 13, Adaptation, Channel 7, change 0 to 1, Save.
After enabling, I had to switch the car off, back on again and then in the CAR menu, driver assistance, Adaptive cruise there is a new option to set the adaptive cruise default distance.
Hope this helps.

M1tchy,any chance you can do a scan on your car with vag com and send me your codings?
I am after adding speed recognition to the hud,I don't have this option but have the camera with the acc and as far as I can see it uses the same camera and module.
