Hi,

I have 2009 A5 3.0 TDI Quattro Automatic, just fitted a Cruise Control Stalk, (The stalk came without the Steering slip ring/coil spring). Used the old coil spring to fit the new cruise control stalk.

Enabled "Cruise Control installed" Under engine module and steering module. Code is accepted. However cruise control doesn't work at all.

Getting following error,

1 Fault Found:

00895 - Cruise Control Switch (E45)
014 -- Defective
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 01101110
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 2
Reset counter: 157

Any help greatly appreciated. Can it be a faulty switch in brake padal at all? Or anything else I need to check?

Many Thanks

Do you have the correct steering controller, I'm no expert but I heard some don't have the cruise control function.

I do wonder if you got the correct stalk assembly, you have to match the pr codes for your old one, wrong one can lead to issues.

I fitted cruise to my buddy's 8K A4 this morning, enabled the CC in the engine module and steering module but was greeted with a flashing glow and same error.

I panicked then remembered I didn't clear the fault (switch fault) as the igntion was on when enabled in engine module but the steering ecu didn't know the stalk was there.

Maybe something to try?

It was a 2009 and had Xenons so used the BD switch pack.

The switch pack that was removed was - 8K0953502BC

Finally decided to take the Cruise control switches apart. So today I took off the airbag and steering wheel and the stalk. Opened up the all the switches and found that the micro connector switches came out of the lags and not moving with the cruise control lever. Cleaned the circuit board and micro connectors using aftershave to remove carbon deposits, put them back together in correct positions, fitted all back, guess what? Cruise control works straight way... so finally cruise control done for £60 as I bought 2nd hand cruise control stalk and steering lower trim for £60.

Good job, cruise fitting is easy on the B8, far easier than my 8P.
