OBD tuning for Audi A6

Hi, I've been looking into having my A6 2.0 TDi tuned but have been put off by the fact that I'm being told they need to take the ecu out of the car and do a bench tune which involves attaching temp wires etc. is anyone aware of any tuners that do this via the OBD port yet which seems a far cleaner tuning solution?

You can't remap any Audi from about 2010 onwards via the obd port, new technology and all that.

Cheers Chris. Doesn't leave many options. Loathed on a car under warranty to have someone messing around with the ECU like that and then you're left with tuning box and there's a lot of mixed reviews on how good they are.

I had my ex XF Jag re-mapped after 2K miles and they took the ECU out. It gave 305 BHP and nearly 700 Nm and it was always serviced and then taken back in by Jaguar when I got my A6, that engine never missed a beat. On its last service (with me) they even commented on how much pull it had and that the workshop supervisor wanted to buy it !

I'm more than happy with the shove in my 245PS Avant. For that car, and what I want from it, it is probably too fast. I can't understand why Audi do a 204PS Allroad with Quattro and S-Tronic but not an Avant ?

My allroad test drive was in one of these. Was fine - smooth and pretty much as expected. My overall perception (however) was that it lacked a bit of 'grunt' when comparing to the 8 year old C6 A6 3.0 Tdi Quattro I was moving from. I think that car was rated a 220 - 225 bhp, can't remember the torques - but it just had a bit more pull when you put your foot down. All the same I think it would be a fine car but given that I think road tax is the same for the 245 bhp one.. well why bother with the baby of the brood?
