Reverse lights

Hello,I have a reverse light issue on my 51 plate tdi 130 passat,the lights stay on whilst going forwards intermittently,I have been told that they go on and off ,today I removed the bulbs and they were still on,then removed all the bulbs in the light cluster,and guess what they still worked,please help is my car haunted ?

I'll have a look online and see where it is on your car.
