Does anyone have the official Audi roofrack on a C7 Avant? If so does yours make a whistling noise at motorway speeds? Mine is driving me crazy. The dealer has tried refitting 2 racks several times and still the same noise, and even without the ski holders it continues to whistle.
Any ideas?

And if others do have noisy roof racks, I'll look for something other than Audi...
Perhaps I could add to the OP's/Eddo1968 objective of this thread with what alternative to OEM roof racks are you using on your Avant C7? And how do you rate them for looks, use and noise?

I am using Green Valley roof rails. I bought them new from eBay and think I paid about £60 for the pair and that included the mounting feet for the A6 rails and locks ( 1 foot is lockable on each bar) . For the amount I use them I could not justify the cost of the OEM ones or those from Thule. There is a bit of wind noise when they are on the car with no biles fitted to the bike racks but nothing that is too unpleasant and certainly not an irritating whistle. In terms of profile they are square with rounded corners. In terms of day to day usage they are relatively easy to fit (probably takes about 10 mins to fit after the first time), although I would not be wanting to take them on and off on a very regular basis.

Thanks for your comments! Mine was quite expensive, however it stays on the whole of winter for my skis. I'll definitely remove it in April because of the noise. Funny thing is as the weather gets colder it makes less of a noise...
