Help!

My HTC One X decided to play silly beggars a few weeks ago, and allegedly couldn't be repaired, so I was sent a new Samsung Galaxy S3 as a replacement. The phone itself is fantastic (better than the HTC in most areas), however it doesn't seem to like working well with my bluetooth hands free in the car.

I paired the phone with the car the day after I got the phone, and everything seemed fine - think I made one call and received one call without any issues. The following day, I tried to get the phone to work, but pressing the voice command button on the steering wheel drew no response. When I finally got parked, I un-paired then re-paired the phone with the car, and it seemed to work fine.

The day after that, someone called whilst I was in the car, the ring tone was coming through the car audio system, but there was nothing on the screen to say incoming call, and no option to answer or reject on the DIS. Again, when parked I un-paired and re-paired the phone again, and all was well.

On to yesterday, and I went to make a call, and again there was no response from the speech button on the steering wheel - yet at the bottom of the radio display it clearly showed the bluetooth symbol and the signal strength. I suspect that this is a phone issue rather than a car issue, but would appreciate any and all advice please guys, as I am now completely confused.

Try this:- Delete your phone from the car and delete the list of paired devices in MMI. Then re pair. Worked for me

Nope - Couldn't get that to work. I can unpair from the car from the phone settings, but cannot find anything in the car menus to delete remembered connections? When I unpair from the car and then re-pair, everything works fine for that journey. Subsequent journeys however, it connects (the bluetooth symbol and signal strength show at the bottom of the MMI screen as normal), but pressing the voice control button on the steering wheel gets no response, and if someone calls me it rings, but I cannot answer as the display doesn't seem to change?

Russ is there anywhere in the phone Bluetooth settings to change to HFP (handsfree profile) as doing a quick read online it seems the rsap (remote sim access profile) causes some problems on the S3.

It was only a quick glance but once I'm back on my laptop ill have another look.

Not that I am aware of Chris - I think we are both heading down the right/same path though; I unpaired it from the car, and then re-paired, however when it asked to allow access to the contacts and call history, I pressed cancel. Phone has worked perfectly in the car since, the only downside being that I cannot access prior/missed calls, or the complete phonebook (so I am restricted to only those contacts that are contained in the car memory).

Think it is something to do with the phonebook delivery via bluetooth, but what the cure is I have no idea?
