Error codes help

background - my battery died basically and had to replace so it reset some of the ECU (i believe)

just over a week later my EM light comes on with these 2 error codes -

P3137 (IMRC) basic setting not carried out
P3139 Intake manifold (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_nkw=intake+manifold) runner control deviation

the light was on and then turned itself off, just worried, could someone please help me with what these mean or what i should do? thanks

What's your engine etc? Can't find 3139 but 3138 is the same as the fault name.

Okay so from the links do the basic settings -


Intake Manifold Runner
Prerequisites:
Ignition ON
Engine OFF
System voltage at least 11.0 V.

[Select]
[01 - Engine]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Group 142
[Go!]
Activate the Basic Setting.
[ON/OFF/Next]
Wait until Field 4 shows "ADP. O.K.".
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

Switch Ignition OFF for at least 60 seconds.

i dont have the kit with me had to take it to my friend who works at ford, what would this do? i would have to take it back to him, what do you think it is? he cleared the codes, basically turned the key once or twice (didnt start engine) then turned machine on and thats what it came back with, light turned itself off after afew mins of being run, as i was taking it to garage

You'd probably need VAG specific for the basic settings. Check the map link in my signature and see if anyone local is near.

You need the basic settings done to get rid of the fault codes

hes cleared the codes off the car, would you be worried or need anything replacing etc?

I'd be doing what the fault code says if it were my car.

You need to carry out the basic setting technique to fix the fault as per post #4 with VCDS or similar.

I'm pretty sure the ford diagnostic wont be able to do what you need vcds to do.

he siad he used a code reader made by launch, there is a VAG specialist called all klasse autos in bishops stortford i could try, is it a case of just paying for them to plug in or do i have to pay for the "fix" too? thanks

Plug vcds and follow the instructions in post 4.

If you look here - VWAF User Location Map - VCDS - Google Maps (http://goo.gl/maps/0Shx) there might be someone near you who will do it for a lot less Han the specialist will. It would take 5 mins tops.

Remember you might have to travel a short distance if crispy can't do it.
