Has anyone done it? I know it's fairly complicated as it throws blown bulb codes and headlight modules need to be changed?
I have noticed the is a guy/company on very popular auctions site selling headlights with complete instaliation. Anyone used him/them?

Very expensive mod to do as you'll need the washer jets for the front bumper to clean the lights and the self levellers which level the headlamps depending on load in the car/suspension.
Wiring looms, ballasts and a possible CCM upgrade (prob not needed for your facelift).
To do it all properly you're looking at £1k+ at least I'm guessing. If you do a search on the forum theres alot of threads on the subject.
Most people just put in brighter, legal bulbs such as Osram Nightbreakers or Philips Xtreme Vision.
That guy on eBay does the light's part for £655... Seems not bad! I've the washer jets so would just need the self leveling added...

Self levelling or headlight washing isn't must. MOT rules say if it's there it must be working. That's all.
I'm more interested in wiring and modules.

Would you rather not be prepared incase they change the rules? I know I would be.
Adapter loom - http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/audi/a6/a6-4f/xenon-hid-headlights-adapter-audi-a6-4f

Washers can't find atm, just pick your lights on eBay, remember you'll need ballasts more than likely too if they don't come with.

My car comes with headlight washers. I have read that there some wiring issues, but no one wants to give away secret...

You'll need the adapters shown above and run the two wires into the CCM below the steering wheel for high beam.
You'll also need VCDS to enable them in the CAN gateway and CCM.

Chris, my car is already running Genuine Xenons (adaptive & turn with car), would it be a straight swap for xenons with leds?

You'll need the adaptive ones again tho due to the way your car is set up* and also being a 2006, you may need to upgrade your CCM plus they're even more rarer than the non-adaptive!
*I remember reading that online by one of the techs, I think it was Jon, I'll try and find it again but it was well over a year ago, don't even think it was on here thinking about it!

If you have headlight washers as factory fit they should work once xenons are fitted, from my brush recently with headlight washers the same P/N of washer jet is used regardless of xenon or halogen headlight, I will double check tomorrow ...
A handy thread to view perhaps Link:- Retrofit facelift DRL headlights to A6 - Audi Forums (http://www.audi-forums.com/c6-forum/49556-retrofit-facelift-drl-headlights-a6.html)
There are more on the web, there was a thread on tyresmoke forum which had a wiring diagram as an attachment, I will try to find that link ....

Like Chris said not a straight swap, besides the other modules which maybe required in this post you will see module 55 differs in a prefacelift xenon non afs vs a prefacelift xenon with AFS Link:- Servotronic and "bending light" - Page 2 (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?139902-Servotronic-and-quot-bending-light-quot&p=820441#post820441)
If you like can check to see P/N's of module 55 in a facelift car tomorrow?

I wouldn't buy from him. I found some info on other forums that he fits bulbs inside to cheat ECU (resistance issues normal DRL vs LED DRL). Here is a picture of what was found inside the headlight.

Facelift cars use AFS2 module, different bulbs and ballasts.
There is also a difference with repeaters as facelift ones are in wing mirror and it causes some sort of trouble.

Yes I know mate :).
The repeaters are now run by the door control modules, I did link a thread earlier concerning the retrofit in post 11.
RS6 xenon headlights do not require as much work.
I did quite a bit of research on subject as at one point wanted to do myself :), only reason scrapped idea I had to spend £££ on other bits :(.

RS6 headlights are super rare, facelift Bixenon DRL there is one set on ebay at the moment and two separate headlights to make a pair.

Hello,
I have gone down this route and have what I think to be all the right bits...
I have the right J519 and 2 x facelift headlights with all the bits.
Ordered the adapter cable from Kufatec (33912) which arrived this afternoon.
Like to get things straight in my head before I get out in the cold pulling bits off so offered the adapter up to the facelift unit and there was a highbeam wire missing - blank pin 8 on adapter into facelift unit (but pin is present) and an extra pin on pin 14 which I don't have on the facelift unit
I know you have to do some pin swaps on the J519 - but where (how) do I get the high beam wire as apparently it is discarded (Connector A pins 8 and 2 remove and tape, then move 6 to 8 and 1 to 2).
Can't see how the power get to the high beam bulb as there is no wire for it in the loom - how does that work then?
Anyone got a pin-out of the 2007 A6 halogen headlight and a pin-out of the 2011 xenon facelift unit?
And/or can someone explain how the highbeam will work as the xenons won't be on all the time (for the shutter to operate) and I thought the highbeams were used as flash/pass function - with the loom I have can't see it working without some missing piece inserted...
I don't have any connections on the loom for the level motor - is this normal too? They go into 1,2,3 &4 on the facelift unit socket but don't know where they come from on the 2007 halogen unit (need that pin-out or wiring diagram)
Any clues or am I being dim?
Thanks!

i believe if you're fitting facelift lights you need a new central electric unit.

Hello,
Other than the J519 - Central Electrics module?
Thanks

Levelling motors won't work. You probably ordered wrong adapters as pre-fecelift requires 2 extra cables.
I have managed to retrofit mine, but my car is facelift.

Of course they will work they are present so apply voltage and they will work.
There were two options for the cables, pre facelift or facelift.
Pin-outs or advice on post operation without the mainbeam cable anyone?

"Am I being dim?" I said....
The answer is sort of right. Was looking at the wrong page! If I had xenons already and wanted to fit facelift ones was what I was looking at not the previous page titled "vehicles with halogen lights"
Doh.
Anyway, I am still missing the high beam wire as the shutter wire is too small for the current and comes from the wrong pin.
Will email kufatec and see what they say. Else anyone know where to buy the pins for the connector so I can make my own if they ignore me?
Wiring diagram or a link would be good too if anyone has one.
Thanks.
