Hi everyone.
Got a strange problem with my mk5 1.9 tdi golf, Leaving work the other day and the car was a little low on fuel, maybe 70 miles left on the range. when i was cruising along at 60-65 and feathering the throttle to keep up the speed then the car would give a hesitation almost like a misfire. I went and filled up and it carried on doing the same symptoms at any speed or gear when the revs are at about 2000 rpm. Fuel economy was really poor aswell dropping off by about 10-15 mpg? The cars got a full service history, just been fully serviced including all filters, new EGR valve and a new MAF, Wondered if anyone has any ideas or known faults? also put through some injector cleaner and its not made any difference ;( any info much appreciated.
Thanks Joel

What year is your car? Sounds like a typical DPF regen - any shaking for 1-2 seconds?

Scrap that, just remembered from your other thread your car is a 05, no DPF afaik.

Where was the needle at 70 miles range? Could've sucked up a bit of dirt?

No bother, yeah its a 05 plate, 80,000 miles Engine code BKC.
The needle was above the first couple of notches maybe two clear of the red, I've had it way down to below the red when i first got it and didn't have any problems with dirt but that doesnt mean its not happened this time.

Also just been thinking back to when i bought the car a few months back, the boy fitted a cheap MAF sensor, i wonder if that's got anything to do with it? Theres no lights on or fault codes present either?
