Recently gave the car a service, the car was running fine.... Serviced it and thought while Im at it cleaned the throttle body out with carb cleaner. Started car and now it idles at 960rpm when before it was at 750rpm.
Run vagcom and the measuring block was showing the throttle angle at 12% when it should be between 2.5 and 6.6 and the Throttle Regl at 0.0% when it should be between 6-21%.
I havent got any error codes coming up. I tried disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes but it has made no difference. Any ideas ??
Cheers in advance !!

Assuming your VAG-COM is a registered version, turn on the ignition, select engine 01, basic settings 04 and then display group 001. Wait as the throttle positioner motor runs the TB thorough a series of tests (about 15 seconds) and then exit basic settings 04, exit engine 01 and turn off the ignition for at least 15 seconds. When you restart, the idle should be correct.

Made no difference but when the ignition is on normally the butterfly in the trottle body is flicking backwards and forwards and will keep doing so until you turn the ignition off. Has done this since I've had the car.. I think it wasn't over revving before because all the crap in there was allowing the throttle to be open by 12% and not cause it to over rev. Now its gone its making it over rev...
Would this be the TPS causing the throttle to flick backward and forwards when the ignition is on ??
Cheers

That is rare but it means the throttle body unit is faulty so try finding a used one.
