Hi,
Bought a 2010 A4 TDI saloon exactly two months ago.
Problem
When coming to a stop in start\stop mode, the engine cuts out as normal, but immediately after the engine switches off, I can hear a reasonably loud hum from behind the steering column. It lasts for about 1 second and then goes silent quite abruptly. This is only when in start\stop mode and isn't heard when turning the engine off using the ignition key.
Questions
Is this normal?
What could it be; given its location and the fact its only when in start\stop - a fuse, air-con fan (note: it is still noticed even if the AC is off)?
What are the VCDS electrical checks, could it identify a dodgy fuse\connection?
Thanks for taking the time to read though this and all input is greatly appreciated.
EDIT: The origional wordy post contained two additional issues with cold starts (probably me being over sensitive with the car) and the B&O (likely a one-off event and all is well now); however I will monitor these a bit longer before reposting.
