ok, today ive just emptied a can of wynns diesel EGR valve cleaner into my egr. I sprayed it directly in to the egr just below the flap, this question is a little late, was this the correct place to spray it ? it said on the can to remove the air filter, but this led straight to the turbo.so i removed the clip and the pipe directly beneath the egr.

has anyone tried it before ? and did you think it worked at all ?

when i removed the clip and pipe, the valve looked clean, just a slight drip of fresh oil and the valve moved either valve easily with slight pressure. This was before use

i have taken it for a spin and it does seem more responsive in 1st and 2nd gear where as before it had some lag.

your thoughts please.

in this picture( which was posted by you a while ago) i removed the pipe below number 3 and sprayed directly in to the valve. it did increase the rpm of the engine as it said it would. I have a sneaky feeling i've not done it right.

Hi mate :) ...

I think I linked that thread :) ... Link:- Another 2.0TDI EGR Valve Cleaning Thread - with before and after pics. (http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/audi-s4-a4-a4-cab-b7-chassis/159097-another-2-0tdi-egr-valve-cleaning-thread-before-after-pics.html)

You'd need to be targeting the green area, EGR valve unit is the red highlighted area ....

Now here is the cleaned egr valve looking from the intake flap motor side (anti-shudder valve), note the disc on the right that's the valve ...

Here is the not cleaned EGR valve unit but from the side which bolts to the manifold, the back face of the disc is somewhere in the red box ...
