Hi All,

I'm a new member and thinking of joining the Audi club buying a used Audi A4 09 S-Line Avant. It has below 50K mileage and is a fair price and in good nick, though I do have a couple of queries I hope I can get help with :)

History first: I am moving company and hence loose my company car (12 Plate Seat Exeo - the similarities)

Questions:

Seats: It is leather trim seats and I am curious to know if I can pay to have these heated? Is it a case of just wiring or a full replacement and expensive job?

Speakers: Quite certain it has the basic speakers (Concert?) Moving away from Bose speakers is paying the money for B&O speakers on the Audi worth it?

BHP: A minor point is the bhp, being a 143 model. I am considering a remap to 170 for that extra little power, anyone had any successes?

Please note, I did do searches on the seats front but not much around :)

Probably more to come but thanks for now :)

Mike

The concert system is very good with decent BASS, the very basic Audi system is just called multimedia..

Heated seats will be more trouble than it's worth, you'd need to change the A/C unit from the centre console and buy one that has the button for heated seats. And then the whole wiring situation which I doubt it easy...

Hi mike , I have had my 58 plate Avant for around 3 months. It is a 143bhp but has been re-mapped. It is not an aggressive remap but does noticeably have more power than my mates standard 143 and slightly more mpg.

Mine have the Concert system which I think is pretty good imho.

Regarding having heated seats retro fitted, I have seen a number of Audi's which have had after market heating elements installed A4's, Q5's and a new A6. Rather than replacing the air con control unit, the toggle switch for the heating is mounted on the seat itself which looks OK. Try Googling for retro seat heating. I have been looking into this as SWMBO wants heaters in her A1, approx cost £600+vat.

BigCol did a great write-up when he fitted seat heaters to his old A6. I assume the process would be pretty similar in your A4.

You can find Col's post here:
