Just registered as a member today - I have been reading a number of posts on here just as a guest over the last few weeks as I've been looking to buy a new (used) car and one option I was considering was an A6.
Yesterday, bought and brought home a 2008 (08 plate) A6 Avant 3.0 TDI S Line Le Mans Quattro in Silver with 19" alloys (7 arm double spoke), had 3 previous owners and has quite a few miles on it and therefore a few 'imperfections' cosmetically but drives really well, and has all the kit I needed (well wanted) - Sat Nav (2G High MMI), Tip Auto, Bluetooth prep, auto lights & wipers, heated leather, and also it has an AMI next to the CD changer in the glove box, just need to figure out what cable I need to connect my iPhone to play music, but I'll post that question elsewhere (anyone suggest where or if the question is already answered somewhere).
I'm not a exactly a huge enthusiast in terms of upgrading/modifying cars, I don't really have the time, barely find the time to clean/polish regularly, nor am I a regular poster on forums, tending to only say anything if I think it's really of value or importance to others, but think I may be coming here quite often to ask questions like the one above, especially while I get used to and learn about the car.
It's probably like swearing to say this on here but my previous two cars have been BMW 5 Series (525d Touring & then a 530d GT) which were company cars, before that was an A4 Avant 2.0 TDI Sport Quattro, again this was a company car. In fact I haven't had to buy a used car in nearly 20 years, until yesterday!
Still not 100% certain I've made the right choice but time ran out with the company car going back and so I had to make a decision and buy something within budget that met my tastes. Otherwise I could have gone on researching and travelling round to look at and test drive cars indefinitely.
I guess you and I will find out as I start living with the car and using it on a daily basis, whether it turns out to be a good choice or not.
I think that's all for my introduction.
