I have a recently acquired 2012 Estate Sport DSG 140. It has the TCS button on the centre console but when pressed the light doesn't do anything and nothing changes (that I can see) on the dash so I assume its not working. Looked at the manual as I thought certain conditions may have to be met for it to work (similar to the BMT stop start button) but it says it can be turned off/on with no mention of any conditions.

Am I missing something or do I need to go back to the dealer?

Try holding it in - I assume you're referring to the ESP button?

Its linked to ESP but the manual refers to it as TCS-traction control sysytem

I seem to be sorted now. I was playing with some other settings on the MFD today and then thought I would have another go with the TCS, lo and behold when I press the TCS button now I get a warning on the MFD and an orange light illuminates on the dash by the rev counter. The actual TCS button doesn't light as I thought it would but the dealer reckons it shouldn't anyway.
I am positive the dash etc didn't illuminate before but I guess its possible I missed it due to expecting the button to light up...
Soon switched it back on though as those OEM Conti tyres a flamin dear lol
Thanks all!

The switch will only light up when you have your lights on along with all other switchgear.

The auto hold, BMTstop/start, handbrake buttons all light up/have a bulb that light without the headlights being on so initially I expected that when I pressed it
