Hi Guys,
2.0 Tfsi A4 B7 2007 (FWD)
I've got a strange noise coming from the clutch just as it reaches the biting point. It only seems to occur when the car is moving (on a gear change) and the only way I can think to describe it is a 'Cha' sound that is loud enough for passengers to comment on it.
I've tried searching the web for this issue and I can find lots of people describing 'hooo' or screaching/grinding noises, but nothing like the noise I'm getting. The clutch is smooth, the position of the bite point is ok, no juddering, no noise or rattling when in neutral either with the clutch engaged or disengaged. Also, I do not get the noise when pulling away, only when already moving.
Another way to get it to happen is:
1) drive in 2nd or 3rd gear ~1500rpm
2) press clutch
3) rev to around 3000rpm
4) release clutch to biting point -> 'Cha!'
It may be nothing to worry about, but it is bloody annoying!
Any help gratefully recieved, thanks.
