Hello just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Joe I am 26 and from Bristol. I have recently purchased my first Audi, a 2008 A4 s line 170. Its unlike any other car Ive owned, Ive had a few jap cars and have always been told the German build quality was like no other but didnt think it would be this good. I have had an emissions light and glow plug light on the dash (luckily I have warranty so garage is sorting it) however there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with the car so dont think its anything major!

Anyway just wanted to say hello as my first post should be an introduction!

Welcome to VWAF!

Nice car indeed, always liked Lava Grey.

I could bet £100 that your fault is a duff DPF pressure sensor as the engine and glow light is usually a sign, plus the sensors are common to go.

If you're doing short journeys then best advice would be to get it removed (DPF) and get a nice remap ;)

Hey Chris, thanks for the welcome and the advice.

I was looking at getting it remapped to be honest as my commute to work at the moment is fairly short, but being a self employed electrician that can change rather easily! Ive had a quick google of DPF removal and have found a local company in Bristol that offer the removal and a remap from £200 which isnt a bad price.

The glow plug light only seems to flash when I am in neutral or in low revs in 1st/2nd, does that sound like a tell tale sign? Ive also heard that keeping it at a steady 2000rpm for 20-30 mins on the motorway also helps to clear the problem.

Thanks again for the advice.
