First variable service was done three weeks ago so the service interval reminder should have been re-set by the dealer. The service indicator is now showing only dashes; no days or mileage to next service. Is this normal or will it eventually show days/mileage to next service?
Thanks for any comments

How many miles have you done since the service?

Sometimes it can take anything up to 1500 miles to recalculate.

Thanks for that; only done about 300 miles since service. That would explain it.

Had mine serviced in August for the first time, took a couple of weeks before the correct service details showed up on the MFD.

Question 5 on my list of things to sort out on my S4 Cab has just been addressed - cheers guys - service was done the week before I bought the car (Monday)

I've read many comments on VW forums about the new miles and days doesn't show after a service and you have to drive it, most say you have to drive it for 100 miles before it shows.

Every time I've had mine serviced at the dealers I check it before I drive off and it always shows something like 9,200 miles and 374 days, so I don't have to drive it.

I think you must be on fixed servicing (annual). That's why miles/days to next service shows up immediately.

Thats the best service interval 10k or 1 year which ever comes first. Your expecting alot for oil to last 20k I don't care who makes it.

how can you tell which service interval you are set to?

Check your service display on your DIS.

Pull out one of the buttons when the ignition is on and it should appear.

If not, a check with VCDS would tell or the frequency of the services in your service book.

Don't use LongLife.

remembered this today and checked

dashes are all now replaced by days + miles so as above it needed a few hundred before it worked out what to do next - I'll probably only do about 3k a year so will get services by Camspec in Crawley every 12 months :)

Yes; mine came on about three weeks ago - nearly two years to the next service.
