Hi All,

Purchased a 58 plate Audi A4 Sline (143) with 48000 miles on the clock.

Last night the passenger side front fog grill fell off, went under the car and of course smashed, part 8K0 807 681 C/D. Done some googling and its bloody expensive to replace being an sline part ! Not sure if I could fit a later 2009+ model ?

Newbeee question , how does this actually get fitted ? Can I push this into place from the front of the bumper ? , or do I need to dismantle or get access to the back of the front bumper/grill and push it in from the inside out ?

On a more worrying note the dealer ( i wont name ...yet..) has really really made us think they sold us a dodgy car and are not honouring there warranty commitments.

Before purchase I spotted no rear window wiper blade, the EMS(Solid) and Glow plug(flashing) lights coming on intermittently, and the timing belt required changing ( 5 years old )

Anyway the car went in for its "service" and MOT. I called 3 days into the service to ask if they had changed the water pump, long story short they said they hadn't because nothing was wrong with it. I replied saying it was standard practise and worthwhile doing when the front of the car is open, I even offered to pay for the part but they fobbed me off and said they would have to see if they had the part in stock. When i called the following morning saying to say i had sourced a pump locally i was told the car was back together again ....

I have checked the car via HPI and it has no finance on it, or accidents recorded. However we still haven't been given the service log OR and documented evidence of the work that was done regarding the timing belt change.

Somewhat nervous ...

If that is action of an Audi dealer then shame on them.

If its anything like my A3 and A6, they will just slot and clip in. Have you tried ebay uk and germany searching via the part number?

EML and Glowplug flashing is more than likely a DPF pressure sensor, but ask for a fault code scan and see what happens. Waterpump, Audi changed my cambelt and waterpump and they take your old pump in exchange and fit a new one with a contribution to the price.

It doesn't sound like a good car tbh, so what I would do before things get worse, is possibly use your rights and take the car back, get a refund and find another.

Any services done by an Audi dealer are logged on the central system and Customer Services can tell you when these happened. 0800 699 888 phone number. Obviously any work done outside of the dealer network won't be logged.

Appreciate the quick reply... ok push fit is good, i though it might be.

With regards to the taking the car back, we have had the car for one week - ironically love it and maybe that is the problem , we like the car too much.

Not sure how we go about taking the car back to the dealer ( not an Audi dealership ).

Thinking Sale of Goods act but that really is messy and the car is fit for purpose , only avenue I guess if they say they changed the Cam Belt and i can prove otherwise then i guess we have a legal avenue to get our money back... grrrrr
