On my 59 plate car I have noticed that on the rear passenger door window frame, there is a Black triangular shaped piece of metal which forms part of the window frame.
This part has started to bubble up and flake. I took the car to Audi Body Shop in Hillington who advise it is Not covered under the corrosion warranty as its not part of the bodywork.
I'm surprised as the car is mint everywhere else. I was advised that once rust is in this component that it can not be completely removed and would come back as its in the metal.
As a result a new window frame unit would be required. If there's more than one of these cars with the same flaw I think I will write to Audi. Hopefully they're not going to run away over a window frame.
The last car I had with this same problem was a 1982 Ford Cortina Crusader...those were the days!
