Hello People,
My Mk5 Golf 2.0 Tdi has just developed a "AirBag Warning Light" in the dash.
I've done a scan and this is the code/description:
01217 - 225 can bus 01/01
Side airbag Igniter:
Driver Side (N199)
sporadic 001-Upper Limit Exceeded
I have recently had rear wheel bearings replaced (Drivers side rear was knackered), causing a bad vibration through the cars floor pan.
Anyway could the vibration have disturbed a airbag connector under the seat?
There seems to be a fix to cut out the yellow airbag connector and solder the wires together to remove a poor connection. Has anybody done this fix?
This is a link I have found regarding this mod:

What do you guys surggest?
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers,
Buzz
