My poor old Audi is coming up for some expensive work, 4 new cams, suspension air bags/struts and other bits. It's doing 26MPG as well :-(
It's a cracking towcar but I'm looking for something decent to replace it, anyone got some suggestions ?
I want 4x4, 'normal' estate looking, better MPG than 26 and ideally a VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat, bmw - something that won't fall apart !

Your stakes are really high ! I would say better the devil you know ! What about a later model allroad tdi ? They have better designed heads, look in the classifieds as i am selling a 2004 model with fully rebuilt engine (solid cams to replace the crapy hollow cams, rebuilt gearbox and rebuilt suspension. High motorway mileage but in good nick and fully loaded as well: parking sensors, cruise, climate, factory fitted towbar/electrics, etc...

Easy answer. I replaced my 2.5 Allroad with a 3.0 Allroad.
