Hmmmm..............now seem to have a similar issue again.
The window will go down in one shot lowering mode if the button is pressed briefly and also up if the button is held .....but.....the one shot closing on the drivers door is inoperative?
All the rest seem fine??
More annoying than anything else...............need to do some research but not coming up with much........any ideas?
TIA

Hi,
I have the same issue, only the drivers window - the rest ok. I think its either needs a clean (not attempted yet) - or the micro switch/contact has failed - requiring a new switch (complete set - as I don't believe they can be broken apart).
regards
You can do a manual reset.
Lift the switch up and hold up for a couple of secs after the window has closed.

Hi Jim, sorry can't help with the problem... However I do have this

Thanks Kite, already tried that little trick several times along with the "whacking the arm rest one" all to no avail I'm afraid.

Aly my friend, your offer of a RED X is very touching and I do appreciate it, honestly I do....lol
Perhaps once I get this issue fixed if that's ok?
Red x? Don't flatter your good self! Besides what would my parents say if I brought home a white boy? Pmsl..
I thought I put this pic up..

Also tried the reset option (normally used if you take the battery away and it looses its settings - I believe) - no good.
Looking at the parts guides, looks like the later versions you can replace the single drivers door switch - mine has two people on the isolation part - instead of the windows on your pic. I'll start stripping the door down and look at the switch in more detail - has to be either a plastic edge or a micro contact failure - not much else in a window switch (unless Audi have made it nice and complicated). regards - rob

Wouldn't be the first time Audi have made it complicated....lol
Anything you do on this Rob, please update the thread as I will if / when I get around to it.

The conv. option in the MMI screen... can't remember if that's for the key only or is that related to the buttons itself but might be worth checking they're on

How long did you hold it "up" for when attempting to reset it?
I believe it is as long as 10 seconds you have to hold it for

Thanks Akash, I tried it several times holding for at least a few seconds each time, sometimes much longer but can't say for sure it was 10 seconds or longer, so I will try again
Thanks

Well tried the 10 secs + but no joy....
In fact for some reason after it, none of my windows worked with the convenience feature?
Anyhow, I went into settings and turned the feature OFF then back ON again................Now as before, all windows other than the drivers window go down and up in convenience mode.
I guess it must be a switch issue for that window?

The other day, the passengers side on my car would not close properly via the convenience option via the remote. It was as if it was tight as it closed near to the top then dropped back as if something was triggering the safety device. But closing it via the door switch all was OK!
Sounds as though it could be a switch issue Jim. But could be in need of a clean, dunno the price of a complete new switch set, but if it's cheap enough, swapping it out is probably worth doing

@Jim I reckon its your switch mate ... Chadders had an issue with his and IIIRC his was the passenger side switch on the drivers armrest ...
There's some P/N's in this post Link:- passenger electric window problem - Page 2 (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?141183-passenger-electric-window-problem&p=774471#post774471)
The MMI option only relates to when using the key fob to open/close windows ...

Hi, ok I took the door apart at the weekend and removed the switch, if any one plans to do this - becare full removing the switch from the arm rest (see the results in the pics).
pic 1 - is the side view of the switch, with what it should look like.
pic 2 - is what is what occured when I removed the switch from the arm rest, by being a bit heavy handed
after a quick repair - not much to clean, did not strip down the switch any further - looked like it would fall apart and never go back. I'll retest, tonight.
question to anyone - can the new parts be used - see pic4 (the nice chrome ones), as the connectors are the same.210522105321054

Those switches are for the 8K chassis
You need Audi A6 S6 Switch Window regulator Switch Chrome Audi A6 4F S6 RS6 GENUINE NEW | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-A6-S6-Switch-Window-regulator-Switch-Chrome-Audi-A6-4F-S6-RS6-GENUINE-NEW-/271217238266?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f25cea0fa) and yes thats the price you pay, the A3 ones are the same price minus the handbrake switch obviously.
I was toying with these but its alot of money just for a bit of chrome.

You've just jinxed my passenger window Jim! :aargh4: It goes down ok, both 'one-shot' and 'partial' mode but now it only goes up in one shot mode. I've found out by basically faffing with the button up and down (driver's side operation of it as the passenger side one is unaffected??) that it starts operating normally again though the fault reapears now and again. Think I'll try a scan next time and see if there are any faults befor trying a reset as I'm confident it's not the switch unit with mine. Maybe it's just a series of one off glitches however it's an interesting puzzle!

Lol.....Cheers!
I seemed to have this fault but with my drivers side window intermittently, now it seems stuck and won't "one shot lower" as I said, although it will go down manually.........still have'nt resolved it as yet

I have the same issue with my drivers window, won't one shot up or down or close via the key fob :( Didn't know about the reset so will try that later. Was wondering if this is related to the auto locking not working any more? When it did work the passenger door sometimes wouldn't unlock via the key fob or the door button, had to lean over and pull the handle. Could it be a door module(s) issue?

Replaced my original unit today after another clean, out of the car you can feel he doubble click for down and now up - previously in the car you could not feel the two stage up click (on click up and the second click for auto close). back in the car it works fine - 100%. Unsure how long it will last but it's working for the moment.

Ok, day off todayso I've done a vcds scan. Aside from the usual battery regulator error (no charger plugged in) my car has zero fault codes for anything (which is good news!). So... Had a check of the car window menu options and it seems by disabling the rear window 'convenience open' my front passenger ones work properly (so far! Lol). A bit confusing however is that disabling it on all windows makes no difference as the convenience thing still works on the fronts. Never mind, I only use it on the driver side anyway but makes you wonder what the issue is. Still learning the vcds so I don't want to just tinker around with the software settings until I'm sure of what I'm doing..

Still haven't got around to sorting this issue.........other more pressing scenarios at present, but saw this today......

Need to double check and see if this is possible on my car or the whole door card needs to come off..........This way looks wayyyy easier....lol
Hmmmm......witches seem expensive unless you go for the Chinese chat off the Bay...........must research further

I was messing with my drivers side switch the other day thinking WHY WON'T YOU WORK!, and it worked lol. Must have been a bit of grit in the contact and rocking it back and forth must have freed it. Worth a try to all those having problems.

Car booked in for Monday am to have this and other issues ..... Remedial work to my A6 (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?144165-Remedial-work-to-my-A6) resolved with AudiTechnik..
They'll be replacing the drivers door switchpack, around £110
Pretty expensive to fix an annoyance really I guess, but to ell with it, get it done!

Had this replaced today and now all works as it should..
Probably a lot of money just for the window to raise by one touch....lol
Anyhow, now done and ticked off the list
