I needed to use the whole load bay the other day so removed the parcel shelf and then the cargo net roller ( between the parcel shelf and the back seat) before folding down the seats. I've had 3 Audi avants with this net in the past 3 years and used it maybe once. Decided to leave it in the cellar, as 1/ it's a pain to remove it every time. 2/ it's actually bloody heavy and so will save a bit of fuel.

Anybody else removed this as well?

I haven't but was thinking the same as unlikely I will ever use it. I've had the seats down twice in the few weeks I've owned the car as my son is moving into a flat and will do so again soon picking my other son up from uni and as you say is a bit of a pain. I'd rather have had something more useful like a storage net etc. than that.

Presume you realise that when the seats are folded down the cargo net clips into the back of the seat backs (now forming the floor) and will help to stop everything sliding forward into the front seats

Thanks John - yes picked that up from the handbook. But I think the net is more about stopping high level stuff rather than protecting the seats. You should have seen the back of the car when I was taking furniture etc. over to my sons - non-slip drawer liner and carpet samples on the floor, pillows and old sheets! Nothing was going to damage my new baby! :D
