Can anyone help me diagnose a problem under the bonnet. When im working my way up in 1nd and 2nd gear is when i can hear the sound the most, its as though something is vibrating. Ive looked under the bonnet and im thinking the sound is coming from either the drive belt or engine. Could someone point out what i look for if the drive belt requires changing. It appears that the sound dissappears when its cold outside, so im a bit lost on this, ive had the plastic top off the engine thinking it was this, but its not. Im quite sure its coming from engine or a belt. There is enough oil in the engine and the temperature guage so not go past 90, the radiator coolent has just been topped up too as i had to replace the coolent sensor around 2 months ago, and lost some coolant. Does anyone know if vw gargages do a quick diagnosis or do i have to pay to get them to look at it in detail ?
