Model year 14 cars have DAB as standard and the Avant ( I think it's only the Avant) has a powered tailgate as standard.

The Tec Pack (WB3) has changed from

MMI Nav Plus, Colour DIS ( this is part of the Nav Plus, don't know why Audi mention it as if it's extra), Park Assist (find somewhere to park and park it for you) and Audi Music Interface.

to

MMI Nav Plus, Colour DIS, Mobile Prep High and AMI.

Price of this pack has gone from £1600 to £1500.

It also looks as if the Mobile Prep High is improved. Can have a SIM in the car AND connect a phone over Bluetooth. Previously it was one or the other which meant if you didn't have a BT Sim Access Profile capable phone you couldn't connect a phone and access the data dependent nav functions at the same time.

Not claiming this is a complete list, would be interested to hear about other changes.

Believe, but stand to be corrected, that MY14 production begins about calendar week 21 /22.

Is the powered tailgate on only the all road or the normal a6 also?

The Allroad brochure you've linked to is still MY13.

Hmm this is going to be interesting... DAB and powered tailgate I knew about and was taking advantage of.

The change in the tech pack content I was unaware of... to be frank I don't want or need the phone prep high.. but I did want to experiment with the park assist (don't NEED it but i would like to see how it works as I am getting older.).

Will see what I get.

I wonder if the dual SIM support can be implemented in existing cars (i.e. the ability to use the SIM in the MMI for data and the SIM in the phone for calls)... After this function has been available in the US for some time now, so I would imagine it's a software update vs any hardware changes....

If you've ordered a car with 'old' tech pack and your car is going to be a MY14 I would ask the dealer to see what will be delivered. Will it be the 'old' pack or will it be the ' new' version? If it isn't what you want you might still be able to amend the order. My order was for a car with no Tech Pack but with MMI Plus and Phone Prep High ordered separately. I've now changed the order to include the 'new' Tech Pack as this means I effectively get the Audi Media Interface for nothing.

Also if you've specified DAB and/or powered tailgate I would check with your dealer that you will get the financial benefit. Base car has gone up a bit, £335 for an Allroad BiTurbo, DAB used to cost £305 and the powered tailgate £430.

I'd ordered both and my dealer has adjusted my price accordingly.

The technical updates Audi have been given specifically state that the new sim functionality will not be able to be fitted retrospectively and that it's a hardware update (dual modules) rather than a software fix.

Apparently it will be in models built from week 22 onwards, so I think it's less about when you ordered the car and more about the week it's being built that will determine whether you get this functionality.

So we added DAB / power tailgate onto my order with a £0 cost to ensure that they were included - it was all part of the price negotiation. I ordered based on the "old" tech pack setup, but it will be a MY14 car - build week 24 or 25 I think.

hmmmm
The update I got just yesterday says:
"Please see below the most recent update on your vehicle that is on order with us. Your vehicle is confirmed to be built week beginning 20th May.
We are currently anticipating delivery to you in June."

I wonder what's going to be the case as I speced DAB but no powered boot on my avant.

You might be unlucky.. if MY14 builds start week 22 then that is the week after yours is scheduled to be built.

That is great news! The previous arrangement was a serious mis-step by Audi on a high price option.

Delivery for mine is September, so I might get lucky. About time really.
