just been informed by local audi dealer it will cost me 96 pounds to unlock my satnav in boot,or as they put it, look into the problem, this doesnt sound right, has anyone any ideas how to get round this, I was considering buying a new disc from them to update, but undecided now,, if I buy a disc off them will they still charge the 96 pounds. waiting to hear back from them,will a vcds cable sort it??, thanks in advance for help..

Yes VCDS will sort it but this should have been done at the PDI when new.

My dealer, Harold Wood Audi, did this for free last year albeit I'd had the car from new but not bought from them.

If you can't get them to do it (literally 5 mins) then try to find a VCDS owner on here who will do it for nothing more than beer tokens. Chris has the link in his signature I think.

Sorted by the dealer.after a few phone calls, emailed audi customer services, they agreed it should have been done at the pdi, and is done to prevent theft, so turned out ok, thanks for your input guys..
