Did a forum search for these but came up with nowt, so asking on here

1) FM Radio reception is pretty poor, when I say poor I mean the selection of stations I get is low compared to my electric aerial on my Jag, R1, Heart and Classic FM are all fine and hold. Oh I have the limo not avant so no flooding probs. Unsure if a 4F9035225D aerial amp is fitted or needed for a better selection?

2) Braided SS brake lines - There don't seem to be any available for our MY cars, have always upgraded to these on other cars which has improved pedal response...anyone done this mod on a C6, if so where'd you get yours...as goodrich don't seem to do a set.

3) Chrome E-brake button and light knob - I think these look far nicer and (in the case of my e-brake button) the original black has worn off in places. When I spoke to Audi...knowing that they are fitted as standard on some models (S-line and S6) they were unable to confirm because they cross-referenced to my Reg/VIN. Are they easy to fit and are these ebay ones about the cheapest I can get:

Note that the parking switch states 09 onwards...will it fit my 07?

Hi Mark,

Firstly, welcome to the forum.

I have a saloon as well, slightly older than yours. My FM reception was terrible too. I have the BOSE sound system and there are no external aerials for FM, GPS etc, they are all built into rear screen.

There is an amp that is most likely there, and possibly faulty or a poor connection.

In the end I gave up trying and added DAB radio. OK more expensive, but I find the clarity and station choice much better than FM.

Can't directly comment on the brake lines, could a specialist company make up a set (Hydraquip etc). Personally mine has large disks (something like 347mm from memory) and the brakes are very powerful, most noticable after driving another car !!!

The chrome switches look good, do you know if they are good quality, would be a shame to spend money and time for them to fail?

Hope this helps, others with more brains and experience will be along soon to comment further.

Apole whilst I've only been on here 6 months I've posted a fair bit (well compared to you but not Gup!) :p

Mine has a working sharkfin ariel, so could be that's faulty...it's in chrome (which I don't like) so may try swapping out for an OEM black one. Am going for DAB as well when piggy bank bank allows.

My brake discs are 302 on the rear and 330 on the front...had them replaced on Tues with Brembo/Jurid...don't think they did a bigger than 330

I think the lighting switch is OEM the parking brake probs not, but wouldn't be surprised if it was...since who's going to go to the trouble of tooling up to make em??

Most probs no one will be along as 'pimping your ride' doesn't seem that popular on here...woe is me :Blush2: :(

Hey Mark,

Well you know me, always the quiet one !!!

You can get your disk specs using the PR codes in the service book or sticker in the spare wheel well.

My fronts are 1ZL, just checked and they are 347, heavy things.

Always much harder to improve/modify things that there isn't such a demand for, but more satisfying when you manage it.

These guys have a good reputation for specialist coatings as an aside:

www.wickedcoatings.co.uk (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/www.wickedcoatings.co.uk)

They don't do chrome though, although others may do so it could be possible to get other parts updated if you can either get 2nd hand ones or do without yours for a bit.

Swapping the aerial for a stock one may be a good idea, with aftermarket ones you never know how good the quality is, or if it even has an amplifier.

ATB

3) Chrome E-brake button and light knob - ... Are they easy to fit ...

Not had time to "pimp my ride" :( ... Light switch not a biggie to swap out IIRC... the e-brake switch gonna be a bit of PITA as centre console needs removing...

IIRC 09-11 A6 has chrome detail on various switches...
