Issue with Car picking up speed

Hi All,

Wondering if someone can help please.... I have a 2004 A4 TDI SE 6SP Manual.... Anyway, I took the car out on the motorway yesterday & it was driving fine (doing around 80 MPH) (using cruise in between) I then noticed that if I needed to increase speed for whatever reason, the car was not picking up at all, it seemed as if it was 'stuck' at 80MPH..

Anyway, after I got off the mway, it seemd the same with town driving, really slow in picking up speed. When I stopped at the lights, I turned the car off & back on again & it was back to normal! On the way back on the MWay, I decided to stick cruise on all the way. This time the car was fine with no probs at all.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? (Please let it be a simple prob! ;-))

I had that happen to me in a VW 1.9 150 Bhp Tdi a year ago, turned engine off then on and worked ok. Took it to get looked at all the same and they diagnosed as a turbo change. Would of been over a grand to fix Under warranty luckily. Good luck.
