Hi, I would like some information regarding a problem on my wifes 2007 2.0 GT TDI, Three days after an oil service the other day the yellow engine symbol on the dash came on.We took it back to the vw dealer, he put it on the computer and diagnosed a faulty sensor. we made an appointment to have it repaired,
On the morning of the appointment I lifted the bonnet just to have a look and noticed that a plug was missing from what I now know to be the EGR valve in the front just under the large plastic cover, I could not see the plug so thought this to be normal. We had the valve/ anti shudder valve and a fuse replaced and when we got the car back home I had a look to see if I could spot the new part and noticed that the obvious new part was there and a plug was now in the socket that was empty before.
I was unhappy at the thought that the plug could have been pulled out and tucked away out of site,
Before I go back and confront them I need to be sure of some details.... If the plug was removed would this not light the engine symbol on the dash almost instantly? or would there be a delay.
Any advice would be appreciated

I've just had a thought, would the dealer have removed this plug to enable the car to be driven normally??
