Does anyone have an original windscreen, which has a tinted stripe, few inches in top, close to the roof ?
I need to change the glass again, and previously the dealer said that it is not available even as a spare part.

In some VW cars, the all clear glass comes with the high beam assist feature, but it does not have effect in Audi.
In my C6 I had the tinted stripe, which was great. If you know the part number or option code, I would be very happy!

Suspect that in order to drive purchase volumes up and prices down Audi are only buying one type of screen for all cars without HUD so it can be used on both cars with High Beam Assist and those without. Top tinting seems to be increasingly less common

Mine doesn't have a tinted stripe at the top. I haven't seen a C7 with a screen like this.

Cheers!

Got the windscreen replaced, no tinted version available.

Could you please check, if there is optical distortion on the lower right quarter? Look at some brick wall, striped pavement, shadow line or anything with straight lines, and see if there is "jitter" caused by poor optics like in very old house windows. I had this in my first replacement glass, now on second and it seem to be "as standard quality". Original windscreen (Feb 2012) did not have this.

Check if the glass is made by Guardian, or someone else. Dealer promised to replace it again, but the next one will be also poor, they checked all replaced and few show cars to have same issue! All chips and other cracks seem to appear (or break) in this erratic area, at least easily than other good quality sections... My previous A6 C6 had no cracks over five years, previous A4 B7 had few repairs and three replacements over 2,5 yrs.
