Sticky gearbox

As you may know, I've had a new gearbox and clutch - However, I've noticed that in this cold weather, the gearbox is really sticky/notchy and, until warm, is difficult to use.

My question is this - is it just me that has this? The car's due in for a(nother) service so I'll raise it to them if it shouldn't be so.

My A3 (and actually fat controller on the forum complains too about this) has a tough gearbox when cold, especially moving from reverse to first it needs an extra push to get it into first.

once the car has been drove however, the gear change is fine.

Hmm, that is exactly the symptom....

There may be a tech solution that requires a different gear oil to be put in the gearbox. Ask the repairing dealer what oil was used and whether another variant is available.

Mine is exactly like this the dealer even agreed although said VW would do nothing about it and that it was normal.
