Engine Idle sound

Hi,

When I start my golf 2009 1.4 tsi the engine makes a tinny sound while it's idle, press the foot on the gas and makes more of a tinny sound - it's not loud but it's evident something is not right. It drives fine otherwise. Any ideas what it could be?

Could it be the water pump on it's way out? I have had a coolant leak for awhile now - no garage has been able to fix it.

got it diagnosed.
water pump was failing.
1.4 TSI is run off an auxiliary belt not the timing/cam belt (which is a chain on TSI models)

Had the same on mine just before warranty ran out must be quite a common fault with water pumps?..
