Aux input cable

Just had a thought. Whilst looking at the AMI interface in the centre console of the C7 I'm about to purchase I noticed a lack of aux cable. Is this supplied or do I need to buy my own?

I presume the new C7s come with the AMI cables? I'm awaiting delivery on Friday & have specc'd AMI - I've got a reasonable expectation that it'll come with the red cable for full integration of iPhone. Anyone have recent experience?

thanks Chris. I see they're £36 on the accessories list & given the options all add up I'd object to getting stung on delivery day.

I went from a late April expectation to delivery this Friday - nice email to get on a Monday morning.

I got an iPhone / iPod connector cable included. Shame that I use an Android phone and a USB hard drive. Just got a bit of a blank look when I asked for a mini USB AMI cable. Luckily I kept hold of the cable from my A4 trade in.

Actually now that the car is imminent I find myself re-reading most of the spec stuff.

I'm getting AMI with the normal MMI - am I right in thinking the red cable allows album art and video? Pg13 of the accessories guide suggests this only works with MMI 3G+ ?

I can only comment on mine which has MMI 3G jobbie. Album art displays provided that it's embedded in the MP3 or whatever file. You have to switch this on, I think it's labelled something like display information and it's in the Settings menu if I remember right. Video plays fine from my external drive and that was quite a pleasant surprise and the sound is in surround although I have the Bose that came as "standard" in the Black Edition.

If you don't get a cable, let me know as mine is going spare.

Be careful with Android phones if it's a Samsung then you need a Micro USB not a Mini - mine came with the usual iphone/big USB cables and the dealer got me a Mini USB - which I took back, 6 months later I still haven't got a micro USB cable, but this thread has reminded me to chase!

Car arrived today - the cables supplied were the ipod blue and a usb female.

I'm going to have a play later however if video doesn't work I'll be looking to swap for a red.

I've got some recent experience of this. The blue collar cable works with most Apple devices with 30 pin connector (iPod Classic, Touch, iPhone) but won't show video or album art, whilst the red collar cable only works with the newer devices (iPhone, iPod Touch but not iPod Classic) but will show video and album art.
