Quick one for you: there are a couple of faults with my A6 which I am going to have the dealer fix under their obigation to make sure the vehicle has no faults.

Firstly, it takes anything between 5 and 10 minutes for the driver information display to come on in the morning. I assume temperature related and that a new / replacement will be required - Is this correct?

Next (And this is more interesting) it doesn't matter what you have the MMI set on when you set off, Radio or CD Changer; but after about 1 minute no matter what it is you're listening to the C D Changer kicks in and plays CD 5 track 1. Every time it's the same track. Doesn't matter if I am listening to Radio or have Sat Nav on or listenting to CD 1 track 7 (For example) it will always change to CD5 track 1. Once you then go on to re-select your original listening choice, it will remain on it it only does it once when you start up, but every time.

Obviously a fault and quite anonying but I can't even begin to dream what the cause could be so that I can have the dealer fix it.

I think that's it apart from that I have inherited a Nokia cradle which I don't want - Any use to anyone? Should I stick it on Ebay?

Cheers

Kieran.

Only reason ask as you may know Avant's have that rear washer pipework issue which can send MMI system/components nuts/fry...

Besides a garage scanning your car you could find an active VCDS member on this map Link:- VWAF User Location Map - VCDS - Google Maps (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=209563024277134815192.0004c505be14b22419dbe)

As your post count need to be 10+ for PM member capabilities you could PM staff like A6_Chris , Eshrules , Mycarsavw to get done...

Great to see loads of locations.

So... I can just contact these guys (via staff) and ask them to run a diagnostic with their VAG COM (And maybe ask them to unlock the secret menu too)?

Surely they charge??

Thanks again for the advice... Car booked in at dealer on Wednesday so they can assess the work so will probably wait and see how that goes initially. They may just fix / repalce it under their obligations as a motor dealer? Wishful I know.

Kieran.

Yes feel free to PM me and I can bring someones attention to this thread.

Yes feel free to ask for any tweaks you want done, there is a list at the top of this forum.

Generally its just beer tokens you give but I personally don't accept anything as I do it for a hobby and for enthusiastic reasons

Update - Dealer has admitted Driver Information Display faulty and will replace, so that's a result (Apart from now I have no car for a week).

C.D. Changer issues - A real head slapper this one. The clip in the glove box that holds a pen was pressing up against the CD 5 button on the changer. Now fixed and I look like a plonker!

All is well.

I may well still be in touch once I have car back to arrange a supervised session with a VAG COM and see what that's all about.

Thanks everyone for your advice and assistance.
