Intermitent Fuel Guage Problem 2008 Golf GTD VW Mech Selby York Area recommend

Hi,Strange fault, fuel gauge drops to zero when driving, if I then stop and turn the car off and on again works normally for a few miles then returns to zero again. Very frustrating and also I don't want to run out of fuel!.:aargh4:
Is there a VW mechanic out there near Selby /York area that could help any suggestions welcome.:zx11:

You would need diagnostic equipment to determine if it is the fuel pump sender in the tank, the dash gauge or the wiring inbetween.

You may be able to get some goodwill contribution from VW by using a main dealer.
