I have just purchased a Audi A3 1.6TDI 2009/10 5 door and it is fitted with Audi Navigation BNS 5.0 but no CD changer, how simple is it to fit one? I removed the unit yesterday and there doesn't seem to be any spare sockets to plug in a cd changer, can anyone tell me is I can fit on or do I need to upgrade my BNS 5.0?
If I did decide to upgrade what would be the best unit that would let me keep (or upgrade to color) the Sat Nav, Bluetooth Phone etc and is it just a case of removing my BNS 5.0 unit plugging in the existing plugs into the new unit and away I go? Or do I need to worry about reprogramming the system?
Many Thanks in advance
Ron

Get rid of the BNS and get a RNSE MK2 and you can then add a changer or AMI.

it plugs straight in but you will need someone to code it

Thanks again Chris, I looked at your sig, it seams the guys local to me are not too active unless I am mistaken, would it be against forum rules to ask the question? Would you say £450 is a good price or can they be had cheaper (legally)
Ron
Also your antenna system is different & you may experience degraded reception.

I have sourced a unit but believe I will need a 32 pin plug to connect my 3.5 aux in socket, I think the part number is 1J0 972 977 G does anyone know where I might get one from please?
Ron

I was hoping to source one from somewhere other than Audi, thought may be someone on here might know or maybe have one they didn't want
Ron
Why not audi, only few quid anyway, surely that's not to expensive.

Through the CANBUS or off the reverse light wire?
Just wondering as the MK2 RNSE supports visual lines from the PDC if it's the genuine module.

off the reverse light wire, the other type was a little expensive ATM. Might see about a Camera later on though
