Anyone know if it is easy to replace and fit the boot door seal on an Audi Coupe 16V, year 1994 ?
Mine appears to be letting in water and may explain the puddle in the foot well behind the drivers seat !

If easy to fit, any idea where I can buy a seal ?

i think it just pulls off and the new one pushes on. you might have to remove the trim on the bottom, but that just some screws. in fact, i may still have the seal from my old coupe, and that deffo didn't leak. do check your rear lights though, as thats a common leak spot. they fill up then flood out.

Thanks.

The water appears to be coming from where the seal sits and over the light cluster so am assuming the seal is perished .

It really is common for the light clusters to leak water, I suggest you lie inside with an assistant dribbling water around, see which it really is? The light clusters are held on with a few m5 nuts, and the sealant which is 'non setting' but will be very firm this time of year. Try a hairdrier to soften it up and don't hammer at the lights from inside, apply force and keep at it, the sealant will yield to a sustained pressure not impact..

Well, the old girl passed the MOT with flying colours. They couldn't find anything wrong and not even any advisory was raised but then considering I have only done 3400 miles in the last 12 months, it's not surprising !

Sadly, the car is now destined for the scrap bin. Fuel leak discovered and it seems to be the pressure pipe from the tank to pump and on investigation, I cannot obtain one or have one made up. Based on the value of the car, it's not worth spending money replacing the tank and ancillary parts so the car will have to be scrapped. Currently she's sitting on the drive with a years MOT, 5 very good tyres, a new windscreen and nobody wants her !!

Andy , put out a request on the forum for the required part, plenty of the members are breaking these cars

I would think the likes of Pirtek or many other hydraulic hose places, would be able to reverse engineer it, or fit new tube to the existing ends?

I've bought a SAAB 9-3 now so the Audi has to go. If anyone wants it, get in touch.
