Hi,

After a 4-plus month wait I picked up my new car on the 1st of March. I'm very happy with it, and thought i'd share a few first impressions. Performance is excellent, though I'm obviously treating it with kid gloves right now. I'm averaging 40mpg, again I am happy with that. Just come from a 22mpg Discovery! The BOSE sound I ordered is fantastic, and the use of the SD card for music is so straightforward. I also ordered the AMI for my ipod - not sure if I would have bothered given the simplicity of the SD card.

Still got loads of toys to play with - settings on this, that and the other, paddle gear changes and the like to master. This is my third Audi over the years, and they are such good cars. Bit of a statto so also loving the numerous functions of the trip computer.

Only two gripes really, firstly, I find the steering a bit light - but I am sure i will get used to it. Secondly, I get wind noise in my right ear when I reach 50mph and above, from the rear corner of the drivers door window. As though the window isn't seated right. Got it booked in next week for them to investigate.

But other than that, an absolutely fantastic machine and well worth the wait.

Pics?!

Glad to hear you're enjoying it, remember you can change the steering feel through the Audi Drive Select available in the CAR menu.

I didn't know I could change the steering set-up, that's great news! I went searching briefly in the manual but didnt manage to find that out - it's been a whirlwind week work-wise since I got it, and I haven't had a minute. So, does this mean I can make the steering a little firmer? Chris, thank you!

I (think) I remember seeing steering somewhere in the Indiviual setting on the ADS.

I got mine on 1st March and loving it too, again a 3.0 245 Black Edition. Similarly this is my 3rd Audi after a B6 A4 and then a B8 A4. Drove it back home to Devon from the midlands last weekend and was amazed how relaxed it was on the motorway. Had to watch the speed though, a couple of times I surprised myself at how fast I was going.

I think the only criticism I've got is the tyre noise although I expected some elevated noise with the rotors on it. It's just that the Potenzas do seem to roar which I've read about on another thread. I'm hoping that's down to them being new.

Went out at night in the week and was very pleasantly surprised by the ambient lighting pack. I tried this in the half light of the garage and at first thought it was a waste of money. However in full darkness it looked great - really classy with the white LED strips - also love the little bling bling lights in the door handles. (little things...)

Overall a good experience from ordering through to taking delivery and just to finish off I cleared the finance this morning which was just as hassle free as other members have described.

A6 Chris - thank you - I altered the steering on individual setting and it's much better. I'm sure there will be lots more to learn in the coming weeks/months. Thank you.
