had my timing belt changed last year, was due to collect car at 4pm. when i went sorry car not finished they had it since 10am so i waited.
guy came out ( does your car start normally ok )
yes, so 4.30 he said will be a while i will loan you a car.
finally got a call at 6,30pm your car is ready he explained belt had jumped a tooth needed re-done.
since the TB change my car very bad on fuel & bad starter.
i have been reading last few days about the injection cam needs set back up after TB change.
sorry if a bit long winded.
i have been reading about the torsion value adjustment & thought i would check where the 3 13mm bolts were on my injection cam they are as far left as they will go.

1 has the garage done correct job.
2 on injection cam sprocket should the bolts be in the middle so you can adjust.

hope i have described things ok http://www.myturbodiesel.com/forum/images/blue/buttons/edit.gif (http://www.myturbodiesel.com/forum/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=88736)

Was it a dealer, VAG specialist or an indie? What is your engine size/code? VAG engines need to be timed properly and the belt tensioned properly. Bad workmanship somewhere if a new belt jumps a tooth but you get similar effect if you don't loosen the cam sprocket i.e timing off. Can you take off the cam cover and look for tipex or paint marks on the sprocket/head?
