Hi

My other half just bought a golf mk5 (2.0 SDI - non turbo), which has the standard rcd300 fitted in it.
The funny thing is that the driver side speakers don't work :s. The passenger side is fine.

I have tried to fiddle with the balance/fader settings and still not working.

I plugged it into VAGCOM and got the following:

Address 56: Radio Labels: 1K0-035-1xx-56.lbl
Part No: 1K0 035 186 L
Component: Radio BVX 012 0022
Coding: 0020200
Shop #: WSC 01279 785 00200

2 Faults Found:
00875 - Treble Speaker Front Right (R22)
011 - Open Circuit
00871 - Bass Speaker Front Right (R23)
011 - Open Circuit

Anyone had this before? Or know how to sort it?

Have you tried clearing the faults first of all and which date is showing on the autoscan?

It will be worthwhile checking the wires that feed the speakers inside the door to the pillar rubber cover, it has been known for them to break due to bending each time the door is opened. Had a similar thing on a passat which was due to corrosion on the plug pins that connect the door wiring to the pillar socket, again within the rubber cover.

Thanks for the reply guys.

I tried clearing the codes. But the returned immediately. What do you mean about the date?

i scanned it today and the section for radio is posted in the original post. I'm not the best with VCDs.

I shall check the wiring in the pillar mate. Thanks

Had the same problem (Golf 2004 2.0 Fsi). Replacing the front left door Loom fixed the problem.

Godd luck.
